The opportunity of independent water producers in South Africa

Abstract

The concept of independent water producers (IWPs) is relatively new in the South African water landscape. The Water Research Commission (WRC) funded a recently published study to unpack and understand this opportunity within the South African water legislation and institutional context. The study also explored the route to the introduction of independent water producers in South Africa.
